Our Practice

Quality Commitment

Radiology Associates of Northern Kentucky works continually to improve the healthcare services we provide technologically, intellectually and as healers.

We have always been committed to the goal of performing the right study in the right way at the right time on the right patient and providing the correct interpretation in an actionable report that is accurately communicated to the right provider in a timely manner to produce improved outcomes and experiences for the patient.

In the 1990s, RANK was an early recipient of accreditation of its practice by the ACR. After the ABR initiated the MOC program, it was our unanimous decision to require all physicians, whether lifetime certificate holders or not, to enroll in this program with it entails. In 2011, to further emphasize our commitment, RANK took the unique step of establishing the permanent position of Director of Continuous Quality Improvement. A dedicated Quality Improvement Oversight Committee was established in 2017 to continuously assess and improve the practice’s quality efforts.

RANK works closely on quality initiatives with technologists, administration and medical staff of our client sites. In support of their ACR Accreditation requirements, our radiologists performed routine double-readings well before initiating an automated web-based peer review program in 2008. Today, a percentage of all cases are double-read within a 24-hour timeframe from when first finalized.

In another example of RANK working cooperatively with our client sites, RANK’s radiologists have worked extensively with St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s Radiology Department management to secure recognition for the healthcare system as an ACR Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, the first such award in the Cincinnati area and the first in the State of Kentucky.
