Neuroradiology is a sub specialty of diagnostic radiology focusing on the diagnosis of abnormalities of the central and peripheral nervous systems, the head, brain, spine and neck. Neuroradiologists are consulted by doctors to determine the correct imaging procedure to best diagnose a patient and then to interpret those results the imaging techniques used are typically x-rays, magnetic resonance images (MRI), and computed tomography (CT) scans as well as angiographic studies of the brain and spine and interpret the findings.
